पैसा और प्रतिष्ठा कमाने के लिए| पैसा और प्रतिष्ठा कमाने के लिए ही हमारी सारी पढाई हो रही है| बचपन से लेकर आज तक वही एक उद्देश्य हमारी पढाई के लिए रहा है|
पैसा और प्रतिष्ठा ही क्युकि हमारी पढाई का उद्देश्य है इसलिए जिन विषयों से हमें ऐसा लगता है कि हमें पैसा और प्रतिष्ठा कमाने में अधिक सहायता मिलेगी हम उन विषयों में संलग्न हो जाना चाहते हैं| कौन से विषय से कितना पैसा कमाया जा सकता है यह उस विषय के बाजार में मांग पर निर्भर करता है| अगर आजकल सोफ्टवेयर का बाजार में बहुत अधिक चलन है और उससे पैसा कमाने की अच्छी गुंजाईश उपलब्ध है तो अधिक से अधिक लोग सोफ्टवेयर इंजिनियर बन जाना चाहते हैं| पूरा समाज, लोग, उनके सोचने का नजरिया उसी हिसाब से बदल जाता है| माता पिता अपने बच्चों को फिर सोफ्टवेयर इंजिनियर ही बनाना चाहते हैं| बच्चों को भी पता नहीं होता कि वो क्या पढने जा रहे हैं| उनको तो बस इतना ही पता होता है कि सोफ्टवेयर इंजिनियर बन कर ही सफल, सम्रद्ध हुआ जा सकता है जिसके कई सारे उदाहरण तो उनके सामने उपलब्ध रहते ही हैं|
सफलता, सम्रद्धि की इन्ही मान्यताओं के आधार पर वे उन विषयों को पढने लगते हैं जिनके बारे में उन्हें कुछ पता भी नहीं होता| उन्हें तो बस इतना पता होता है कि ये विषय पढ़ कर ही अच्छी आजीविका कमाई जा सकती है, समाज में प्रतिष्ठा कमाई जा सकती है, सफल हुआ जा सकता है और एक सुरक्षित जीवन जिया जा सकता है| उनकी यह अपेक्षा गलत भी नहीं है, पर क्यूंकि वे जो विषय पढ़ रहे होते हैं उनमें उन्हें रूचि नहीं होती तो उन विषयों को पढने का उद्देश्य सिर्फ अच्छे नंबर लाना ही रह जाता है, ताकि उनको बाद में अच्छी नौकरी और और प्रतिष्ठा मिल सके| इसके कारण पढाई करने की यह यात्रा बड़ी ही कठिन हो जाती है| जिन विषयों को पड़ने में मेरा मन नहीं लगता उनको पढने के लिए मुझे काफी रटना पड़ता है, जो अपने आप में काफी दुःखदाई काम है| कई लोग पढ़ नहीं पाते अच्छे नंबर नहीं ला पाते तो उनके माता पिता परेशान हो जाते हैं| वे खुद भी काफी दबाव में आ जाते हैं| आसपास के लोग क्या कहेंगे, अच्छी नौकरी लगेगी या नहीं और भी कई सारी अनिश्चितताएं उनको और उनके माता पिता को परेशान करने लगती हैं, जो की काफी स्वाभाविक है|
यहाँ पर अगर ध्यान से देखा जाए तो यही देखने में आता है कि हमने अपने आसपास जो भी मोडल, वातावरण बनाया हुआ है उसमें अधिक पैसा और प्रतिष्ठा कमाना ही मूल उद्देश्य नज़र आता है| इस मोडल में भी काफी अस्थिरता अनिश्चितता बनी रहती है| आज जो विषय बाजार में मांग पर है, जरूरी नहीं की कल वह मांग में रहे ही| देखने में आता ही है कि किस तरह सोफ्टवेयर का बाजार हिलता डुलता रहता है| जरा सा बाजार हिला और आपकी आजीविका और प्रतिष्ठा दाव पर आ गयी| एक चीज़ और जो होती है वह यह है कि जिस विषय की बाजार में मांग होती है उस विषय से जुड़े हुए काम में लगे लोगों को अधिक पैसा तो मिलता ही है साथ ही उसे बाकी कामों से अधिक प्रतिष्ठित काम भी मान लिया जाता है| जिसके कारण अधिक से अधिक लोग उसमें आ जाना चाहते हैं| गांवों से लोग अपने बच्चों को शहरों में पढाई के लिए भेजते हैं ताकि वे भी अधिक पैसा और प्रतिष्ठा कमा सकें| गांवों में ऐसा नहीं है कि उनके पास संसाधनों की कमी होती है| बल्कि गाँव में उन्हें पर्याप्त भोजन की आश्वस्ति, गाय का असली दूध, रहने की अच्छी जगह आदि सब चीज़ों की आश्वस्ति होती है, पर वे शहर में आ जाना चाहते हैं| प्रचलित मान्यताओं के आधार पर पैसा और प्रतिष्ठा पाना चाहते हैं| गांव के वो लोग जो अपने गांव में राजा या मालिक की तरह रहते थे वे शहर में आकर भिखारियों जैसा जीवन व्यतीत करते हैं| ना तो पैसा ज्यादा कमा पाते हैं, प्रतिष्ठा तो बहुत ही दूर की बात है| यह लाभ तथा प्रतिष्ठा का उन्माद उन्हें कहीं का छोड़ता|
नौकरी में आ जाने के बाद भी नौकरी करने का उद्देश्य केवल पैसा और प्रतिष्ठा कमाना ही रहता है| दफ्तर जाना, वापस आना, सोना, फिर दूसरे दिन वापस जाना, पैसा इकट्ठा करना, लोन चुकाना, हफ्ते के आखिरी दिनों में घूमना फिरना, बस इतना ही रह जाता है जीवन|
अगर हम ध्यान से देखें तो यहाँ तक कि आज शिक्षा के नाम पर जो दिया जा रहा है वह भी अधिक से अधिक पैसा और प्रतिष्ठा कमाने की ट्रेनिंग ही दी जा रही है| जिसके कारण ही आज यह स्थिति आ गयी है कि अर्थशास्त्र लाभुन्माद पर आधारित है, समाजशास्त्र भोगुन्माद पर और मनोविज्ञान कामुन्माद पर| शिक्षा का असली प्रयोजन लोगों की नौकरियां लगवाना नहीं बल्कि समझदार, इमानदार, जिम्मेदार इंसान बनाना है|
हर इंसान की जन्म से ही कुछ मूलभूल आवश्यकताएं होती है जिनकी सही पहचान उसको खुद को ही नहीं रहती जिसके कारण ही सारी समस्याओं का जन्म होता है| जैसे,
१. हर इंसान सुखपूर्वक जीना चाहता है पर उसे सुख क्या है और वह कैसे सुनिश्चित होगा इसकी समझ नहीं होती|
२. हर इंसान जन्म से ही अपने आसपास के लोगों से निरपेक्ष स्वीकृति की अपेक्षा रखता है, उसकी यह अपेक्षा रहती है कि उसके आस पास के लोग उस पर विश्वास करें, उसका सम्मान करें और किये ही रहे, पर उसमें स्वयं में अपने आसपास के लोगों को स्वीकृति प्रदान करने तथा व्यवहारिक रूप से मिल जुलकर काम करने की योग्यता नहीं रहती|
३. हर इंसान जन्म से ही सत्यवक्ता है, सही कार्य व्यवहार करना चाहता है पर उसमें सही व्यवहार तथा कार्य कर पाने की योग्यता नहीं रहती|
४. हर इंसान बचपन से ही ज्ञान का प्यासा है पर उसे ज्ञान का अर्थ स्पष्ठ नहीं रहता, वह अपनी इस प्यास से अनभिज्ञ रहता है और हमारी अभी की शिक्षा प्रणाली, समाज, माता पिता उस प्यास की हत्या कर देते है|
हमारी अभी की जो शिक्षा प्रणाली है उसमें उपरोक्त ४ में से किसी भी विषय पर बात नहीं होती| जबकि ये ४ मनुष्य की मूलभूत आवश्यकताएं है| इन आवश्यकताओं के पूरा ना हो पाने के कारण ही इंसान में असंतुष्टि बनी रहती है जिसे पूरा करने के लिए वह कई सारे गलत काम करने को भी तैयार हो जाता है|
यहाँ पर यही समझ में आता है कि शिक्षा का असली प्रयोजन इंसान में सही करने कि योग्यता को विकसित करना है ना कि पैसा कमाने कि योग्यता को विकसित करना| इसे करने के लिए शिक्षा में इंसान और उससे जुडी हुई आवश्यकताओं पर बात होना अत्यंत आवश्यक है|
Tribulations of A Fledgling Mind 
1. I dont know why people take spirituality(or even honest human being) meaning absence of money, or absence of materialistic(so called) things. Who in the earth’s name, said that spirituality and material can not exist together.
2. Education upto certain level ‘is/should be’ just education of human-development(reasoning and citzienship and all). Unfortunately India’s education system is deeply flawed in that sense. But it doesn’t mean that ‘education can not be used for earning money’.
3. If education cannot be used to earn money then how do you propose that 300million people below poverty in India can become above poverty.
4. I dont deny that ‘basic education’ should be inclusive to develop a kid into human being. But that is basic education(lets say high school). After that purpose of education is your choice.
Therefore, in my view, all in all, शिक्षा का असली प्रयोजन depends in person; unless you are talking of high school education.

It gives me feedback about other perceptions and interpretations of my writings.
1. I never said that material is not needed or it is bad or anything like that. I just say that need of material is limited and problems which we see in ourselves, family, society, nature are not due to lack of material but due to lack of understanding in a human being.
2. I just said that purpose of education is NOT just to train people in the skills to earn more and more money. It has to consider other aspects too which I pointed out.
3. The basic assumption in this point of yours is the same that with the skills we learn from our current education system we can earn money. What I say is, poverty and other problems are the by product of wrong kind of education or lack of understanding of a human only. Just for the sake of example, production in India of grains etc is almost double the need of people in India in a year but still people are not etting food to eat, so where the problem is?
4. I think it needs some sort of introspection on our part to identify what we really want and whether that can be fulfilled by the things which we use to fulfill what we really want. It brings into front the 4 points I mentioned in the post, then one realizes the need of inclusion of those things in education. In addition at least one agrees that sensitivity in holistic way need to be increased in every human being.
Making a responsible human being is not only the responsibility of primary education, I say in fact it is a life long process. It just has to be initiated within every human being and has to be facilitated life long.

I guess, first of all you will need to come out of that thing that “its my perception”. of course, it is my perception. But more than that it is my opinion and which doesnt include your blog’s interpretation only. lets take bottom up approach:
yes, of course it is life long process but primary(actually high school) education should be sufficient to teach a person to learn on his own. Isnt it?
Then there is thing what is good for you/what is good for me. I have different choices, you can not dictate that ‘money’ is bad for me. Maybe ‘money’ is the only thing I am living for, but thats my choice. Lets say for you ‘search/exploration/knowledge of self’ etc. is happiness, for me ‘coding’ is happiness(lame)…whats wrong with my choice?? Of course, I should be aware of my own choice, that will come by right high school education, not by software-engineering.
rest left is point 3, now for that answer you will really need to understand economy. How economy changes. How there is transformation of labor-based economy to skill-based economy etc. And how production is increased.
I will tell you in crude way, lets say I have family of 3 people and I grow 100kg. My neighbor has family of 6 people and he grows 50kg because of laziness. Now ask yourself why my neighbor is called a poor person. Now apply this funda to group/city/countries.
Above is called capitalism, now if you feel like socialism then lets say our very basic paths are different.

I am not trying to dictate the choices, I never said money is bad or coding is bad. There is no dos and don’ts I am proposing.
What all I am trying to do is the draw attention of a human being to his natural/basic desire and to evaluate if that is true to him or not. Like when I say, a human being wants Happiness + Prosperity + Relationships + Continuity of 3, then this is a thing towards which I am trying to draw attention. If you find it right then accept it otherwise reject. The evaluation has to happen within the self. Like in relationships trust is naturally acceptable, this is another proposal which needs evaluation within. If you find it right then accept it.
Now economy. Currently the basis of economy is resource consumption. For how long such an economy can work? Are resources on earth unlimited?
Capitalism, socialism, communism, these are just words. There is a need to investigate within ourselves what we really want and then we no longer need these words to define a society.

But the ultimate thing is you are mixing up ‘purpose’ of ‘formal education’ and self-awareness.
About economy:
resource consumption is one of the symptom(another is development) of economy. Resources in any form are limited, technology evolves and so does efficient usage of resources. (I think your point is towards USA, if they became extreme consumerists it doesnt mean basic principles of economy are bad).
I also agree that these are just words. But if I proposed that example of 50Kg/100Kg, people ould have automatically categorised that theory into capitalistic view. In my all intentions, I just proposed a logical argument(not an ideology). That rich and poor divide will always be there based on the talent/hard work etc. What we can ensure is equal opportunity to everyone, nothing more.

1. What I say is, with self-awareness one comes to know what one really wants. Without knowing what I really want if I try to do something then it is bound to be directionless and we see the results of it in current condition of society. So, education related to self-awarenss is a must in education. In fact it is more important than the technical education. A person who doesn’t have knowledge about the basic purpose of his life uses knife to kill people rather than to cut vegetables. Currently we are teaching in education is, how to make a knife, but not what it is needed for and what is its right use.
2. In any case if the basic assumption behind development/economy are, big buildings, big infrastructures, increased profits, comforts and pleasures then it is not going to take us anywhere. There has to be a goal to development, progress. We do not just call “running” a progress unless it has some direction. What I proposed is, human goal is, Right Understanding in every human, Prosperity in Every Family, Fearlessness in Society, Co-Existence in Nature.
3. This disparity in rich and poor is coming not due to talent/hard work only. It is coming rather due to lack of understanding in human beings and understanding in relationships. Equal opportunities to humans can not be given harmoniously unless there is equality in human perception. What I mean to say is, concept of equality has to come within human being that every human being is same and not in the external world where all are given equal opportunities. Unless there is equality inside human being there can not be equality outside.
